Charlotte Midnights

I must confess, I was technically not the one who came up with the name "Midnights". But it wasn't copyrighted so it doesn't matter. But I still must explain the origins of the team's name.

Back when me and my friend (for security purposes, let's call him Philip) and I were 1 year in being friends, I went over to his house and saw him playing MBA 200...something I can't remember. But it was the one where you can create you own team using pre-made baseball logos and such. And he created one, which had a bat on it with a baseball bat and hat. Which he called the Midnights. And every time I played him, he kicked my ass with that team. And I must give him credit, just having a bat as your logo and calling yourself the "Bats" would be kinda silly so I congratulate him for creating a menacing sounding name while still retaining the idea of a bat. Cause a bat is the last thing I want to encounter while walking around at midnight. (Ok, I lie, there's lots of things I don't want to encounter at midnight but hey) But this is football, and having a bat with a baseball bat wouldn't do much good for the football franchise would it? So that's where I have to resort back to my logo making skills. And believe me, I think it turned out nicely.

I originally wanted to do something like the Minnesota Wild where you have a scene encrypted into an animal part. But then I thought, "You know? That's Minnesota's thing, I should do something different. So I was juggling between a crescent moon, a bat, and a star. So give or take this is what you get. The star was pretty generic so I settled on the bat and the moon. Besides, I'm sure if I did the moon and the star, I would get a call from the country of Turkey. It's pretty original, it looks like it would be a first draft, as I don't think it would fit well with today's NFL logos, but then again, neither do the New York Jets, the Oakland Raiders, or the Miami Dolphins. But that's just me!
